Aurum Geyser is an active geyser located on Geyser Hill in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park. It is known for its unpredictable eruption patterns; at times, Aurum Geyser erupts regularly every 3 to 4 hours, especially when the meadow behind it is wet. However, when the meadow dries in late summer and early fall, its activity becomes more erratic, with intervals ranging from 4 to 7 hours. The geyser is also influenced by the weekly Geyser Hill wave, which affects its eruption intervals. Aurum’s eruptions typically last about 90 seconds and reach heights between 15 to 25 feet. Eruptions are often preceded by bubbling in nearby vents, and occasionally, a smaller eruption follows the main event about 5 to 10 minutes later.
