Historical courtyard in the Schaagbach Valley - the seat of the nature conservation station
This water view lures you into the nature reserve "Schaagbachtal". Here you will find many of the biotope types available in the nature park next to each other in a very small space. Biologists enjoy the diversity of species, walkers enjoy the varied landscape. It is not for nothing that one of the newly designated premium hiking trails leads right past the location of the Blickpunkt.
From the Wasser.Blick you can see the half-timbered houses of Haus Wildenrath across the pond. This Franconian courtyard has existed for over 300 years and the buildings and grounds have been used for environmental education since the 1960s. Today the listed courtyard is the seat of the NABU nature conservation station with a varied educational and event program for children and adults.
There is a lot to discover on the area around Haus Wildenrath. The farm includes chickens, donkeys, sheep and cows. The nature adventure area offers many play opportunities and suggestions for natural garden design with a willow village, net pond and themed gardens. On the other side of the focus you can see a wet meadow. Sour grasses and moisture-loving species such as angelica and cuckoo's light carnation grow here.
A few kilometers away is one of the three nature park centers in the ListZentrum Wildenrath.

Very nice prelude to the circular hiking trails Traumweg Wildes Schaagbachtal (10km) and Birgeler Urwald (14.9km).
