Tips

  • Rheinschiffer ⚓

A true natural spectacle. You need sturdy shoes to climb down the steep path, it is also wet and slippery down there. The impressions, however, are overwhelming, so deep in the earth with a little bit of daylight in the sky.

  • There are three devil trails of two, four and six kilometers in length with constant ups and downs in almost untouched nature. With a visit to the nearby Dino Park, the "small laps" can also be easily done as day trips with children. Teufelspfad 8 is also a treat for trail running. For this reason alone I have to go there again.

  • The entry doesn't look that spectacular and you could be of the opinion that it is definitely somewhere else. But if you go down the stairs and follow the path you will get from the m. E. gigantic proportions surprised. In the center you stand in front of bizarre rock formations.

  • Today we were hiking again in the Teufelsschlucht at Irrel, always nice. However, many hikers, tourists and visitors were in the Teufelsschlucht on this beautiful summer Sunday. Unfortunately, one or the other sometimes drops something that does not belong there.

  • In the Teufelsschlucht in the Southern Eifel, you almost imagine yourself in Saxon Switzerland. The deeply cut crevices and towering walls are impressive. unfortunately there is a lot going on, so it's best to pay a visit during the week ...

  • Both the Irrel Falls and the Devil's Canyon are recommended. To stay we were in Landgasthof Oberbillig in Holsthum. They offered a good value for money. For our trip to the Teufelsschlucht we parked the cars in Ferschweiler. We were with a group of 15 and despite the snow was the gorge to commit. The premium route from Holsthum to Irrel was sometimes difficult due to fallen trees but with a bit of circumspection feasible.

  • A hike through the Devil's Canyon, I can only really recommend. Sturdy shoes should be available.

  • A beautiful area that is wonderful to hike, but you have to have some stamina and be sure-footed; she is definitely very varied

  • The Teufelsschlucht is just fantastic. Such a great natural spectacle is not often found. Here the South Eifel has something very special to offer that you cannot miss. However, it can be quite busy at peak times. Then it’s less fun to walk there

  • The beautiful Devil's Gorge. It is advisable to hike from here to the Irrel waterfall.

  • The ascent over the bridge is very steep, but it's worth it. Very beautiful landscape you do not see every day.

  • Absolutely worth seeing - in any weather. The best way to go this tour, if the weather is "not so good". Then there are not that many tourists on the route.

  • Very impressive gorge with great rock formations. Sturdy shoes and surefootedness are required, but it is also a great experience for children.

The entire area is a great hiking area.
