In one word: rustic. With a lot of charm, an excess of hospitality and a few rarities on the menu. The floor of the only hut in the Grossarl Valley that still produces kneaded cheese consists only of clay and tree bark - there are no planks here. There is no electricity throughout the hut and the food is all cooked on an open hob. This open hearth is also the reason why the hut is the last of its kind to produce the kneaded cheese, which can only be made and smoked in the end via such a hearth.
A real mountain jewel and highly recommended!

The Karseggalm is located at 1,603 m and is a popular hiking destination for young and old. For the children there is a playground and petting animals to discover. With its 400 years of age, the Karseggalm is the oldest alpine pasture here in Grossarltal. A look into the Alm is definitely worth it, because there is the open fireplace.
