"... The Diepenbrock colliery was an ore mine in the Rahmer Wald near Mühlheim an der Ruhr. The mine mainly mined lead ores.
As early as 1844, ore deposits (lawn iron stone and zinc) were discovered and mined near Selbeck. In 1882 the industrial exploitation of the ore (zinc, lead, copper and sulfur ores) began by the Selbecker ore mines union in the former rural community of Breitscheid-Selbeck (Düsseldorf district). The Neu-Diepenbrock mine, named after the district forester Engelbert Diepenbrocken, who came from Lintorf, mined until 1907.
