Cycling Path Over the Oosterscheldekering

The Oosterscheldekering is perhaps one of the most impressive Delta works. The storm surge barrier is approximately 9 kilometers long. Halfway through the building is the work island Neeltje Jans, a nice information and amusement park.

Here you drive a part of the whole Zeeland spanning delta cycle route.
On the way there are always information booths on the importance of dams and
Bridges pointed.

The Oosterschelde barrage (Dutch Oosterscheldekering) is part of the Delta Works, which are mainly in the Dutch province of Zeeland to protect from storm surges and floods. The structure, partly dike and partly mobile barrier systems, was built between the islands of Schouwen-Duiveland and Noord-Beveland (Wikipedia).
