Eggeturm Observation Tower (Preußische Velmerstot)

Since you can easily get away with the road bike. The path that leads from the Altenbekener Straße almost parallel to the Eggeweg to Eggeturm is paved and goes until shortly before the Eggeturm. The last piece to Eggeturm is then footpath. For all other ways you need something solid.

Highest elevation in Teutoburg Forest and Egge Mountains

With its twin summit, the Velmerstot is one of the most striking elevations in the nature park. The Lippische Velmerstot (441 m) and the Prussian Velmerstot (468 m) are only separated by a flat saddle. The Lippian-Prussian border once ran over this saddle. Jagged rocks stare bizarrely above the heather head. When the weather is clear, the view extends from the Hermann Monument to the Lippisches Bergland and even to the Hessian Bergland. Spruce and crippled pine grow on the Velmerstot.
