Laufenburg is a beautifully preserved and well-maintained knight's castle from the 12th century. Amazingly, over the centuries it only changed hands through inheritance or purchase, not through military conflict. The castle was not damaged until the 20th century, but was partially destroyed in the Second World War.After the war it was lovingly restored and today you can take a break on your hikes in a traditional restaurant in the idyllically situated castle.

A great value for money is offered here.
A soup in advance, venison goulash with noodles and savoy cabbage and finally a chocolate cream for 14.50 €.

There is an excursion restaurant there, but I haven't tried it yet (Corona). The northern hiking trail from Wehebachtal to Laufenburg is much more beautiful and romantic than the southern one, which contains the driveway.
