The Lenin Monument in Barentsburg is a striking photo stop and historical relic from the Soviet era. The short circular tour leads through the remote Russian mining settlement with views of the fjord and abandoned buildings. Some sections are steep, and the terrain is partly uneven. The place feels quiet, almost eerie. Access to the mines and buildings is only possible with a guide. Due to the geopolitical situation, arrival by boat may vary.
