In 1959, the world's first Sculptor Symposium was held in the Roman quarry of St. Margarethen. The overall concept, which was largely determined by the Burgenland stone sculptor Karl Prantl, included literary and musical performances and collaboration with artists beyond the "Iron Curtain". In 1967, the sculptor's house was completed according to a plan by the architect Johann Georg Gsteu on the western slope of the hill. In the landscape of exceptional natural surroundings of the house can be found the artistic legacy of international sculptors, supervised by the Symposium of European Sculptors (SEB).
