"Kirchpfad" / "Totenpfad"
Due to the rule of the Counts of Sponheim and the Wildgraves, the surrounding villages also adopted their Protestant faith, while the citizens of Langweiler remained predominantly Catholic. As there was no church yet, the devout Catholics had to go to the episcopal throne to worship, because in 1803 Langweiler became a branch of the episcopal throne. The deceased also had to be brought to the bishop's throne via the high path to the cemetery. The forest path, which was particularly difficult in the winter months when there was heavy snow, is still called the "church path" or "death path" today. The path leads over the Morbacher Höhe (737m above sea level), where a cross was erected in 1949 by those returning from the war from Langweiler. In 1852 a small cemetery was set up in Langweiler. In 1856 the construction of a church followed, which was built by hand and clamping service by craftsmen and helpers of the place. Construction of the current rectory began in 1897.

Steep, narrow and steps describe this piece quite well. The church path in the direction of Morbach is currently blocked by storm damage.
