The current church is the successor to several predecessors. In 1725, a farmer from Userin had a church built, which burned down in a major fire in 1795. The octagonal half-timbered church built afterward was completed in 1805 (1808?), but was probably not very durable. Thus, the foundation stone for a new church, the current one, was laid in 1876. It was built as a "modern, Gothic-style brick building."
