    Castle Oberhöflein was first mentioned in the 13th century. In 1578 it was owned by Andreas Kielman of Kielmannsegg. In 1658 the castle was bought by Ernst Ferdinand Freiherr von Breuner. Conversions were made in the 16th century and in 1724 by Matthias Freiherr von Suttner. Since then it has been in the possession of Freiherr von Suttner. In 1945, among other things, the hall was damaged by fire.
