    Great view of the lake.

    Wikipedia:
The Rethmoorsee is a Baggersee, which forms the same nature reserve in the Lower Saxon town of Winsen (Luhe) in the district of Harburg with its shore area.

The nature reserve with the license plate NSG LÜ 244 is 90 hectares in size. It has been under conservation since 2 July 1998. Responsible lower nature protection authority is the district Harburg.

The nature reserve is located southeast of Winsen (Luhe). In the north the nature reserve borders on the A 39, in the northeast on the railway line Hanover-Hamburg and in the south on the Hausbach. Around the lake runs a ring ditch.

The lake was created between 1983 and 1989 by excavation for the construction of the A 250 built, today's northern section of the A 39. The resulting pit then filled with groundwater.

The bay-rich lake is surrounded by reed beds, shrubs, dry grassland and grassland areas. There are also two shallow ponds between the lake and the highway.

The grassland areas in the south of the reserve are extensively managed, while over 12 hectares of grassland areas in the north and west since 2005 as pastures for Belted Galloways are used, which should keep the surfaces low in oak.

In the west of the nature reserve there is a covered observation point for nature observation.
