The large municipality of Medemblik, which was formed on January 1, 2007 from Medemblik, Noorder-Koggenland and Wognum, has 45,178 inhabitants

Medemblik is the smallest and oldest town in West Friesland. Their first port, Oude Haven, was dug behind the dyke that stretches from east to west.

Nice village with many harbors

Great castle. Definitely take a little break.

A cafe is a great place to take a break and watch the boats.

The rest of the town is actually nicer than the harbor - this would do well with a few more historic ships.

This is our second time here in the Netherlands - and we really like exploring the country here by bike.

The view over the harbor to the Kasteel has something special. Unfortunately mostly modern boats, otherwise the harbor would have a real atmosphere.
