Tübingen Weir on the Neckar

A large part of Tübingen's electricity has been produced here since 1911 - today a large part of Tübingen's “blue-green” green electricity. Anyone traveling by e-bike can use this electricity in the beer garden on Neckarmüller (just a few hundred meters into town) to charge their battery free of charge at the charging station for e-bikes while hissing a delicious apple-wheat under the chestnut trees!

Here you can just cross the Neckar shortly before the city center Tübingen and can the right side (river seen upwards) drive the nicer route. The hostel is also on this page and can be easily reached.

Due to this weir the water level at the Neckar bridge and the avenue is always relatively constant.
