Fürnried is a district of the municipality Birgland in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach. Fürnried was first documented in 1043 as "forha" (presumably by Föhre). In 1972, Fürnried was incorporated into the community Birgland. Worth seeing is the center with its old but well-kept houses. The rectory, as a monument, is as interesting as the church of St. Willibald and the two inns in the village center.
