All water flows from here into the North Sea. Feed in three different ways, three rivers that shape our landscapes. The Elbe to its mouth near Hamburg, the Weser to Bremerhaven and the Rhine with one of its mouths at Hoek van Holland. As a triple watershed, this point has a unique selling point in Germany.

The Dreistromstein is a three-sided obelisk that marks the watershed point of Weser, Elbe and Rhine in the Thuringian Forest since 1906. The conically bricked foot of the obelisk was made of the rock, which is typical of the respective river system: Elbe: granite; Weser: Greywacke; Rhine: quartz. The inscriptions of the obelisk also contain the names of the rivers, which in the further course of the three streams to flow: Rambach, Schwarza, Saale, Elbe, Grümpen, Itz, Main, Rhine, Werra, Weser.
Opposite him is the Small Three-Herrenstein (also: Dreiherrenstein am Saarzipfel) from 1733, which marks the border of the Duchy of Saxe-Meiningen, the Duchy of Saxe-Hildburghausen and the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt. He belongs to the original 13 three-stone stones along the Rennsteig.

If you walk on the Rennsteig from Limbach direction Dreistromstein, the Rennsteig crosses about 500m after the Dreistromstein the road from Siegmundsburg to Friedrichshöhe. Three soldiers' graves can be seen directly on this road.(Source: denkmalprojekt.org)

The Werra Castle Trail with the sign X5 is a 500 km long long-distance hiking trail. He starts in Hann. Münden in southern Lower Saxony and leads along the river Werra through the northeastern Hesse and western Thuringia to Masserberg. The 128-kilometer section of Hann. Münden to Nentershausen with the special sign "X5 H" is certified as a quality trail. [2]Already in 1885 the hikers of the Werratalverein laid the oldest section from the Wartburg in Eisenach to Hann. Münden. Divided by the inner German border, further routes were created and united after the turn. The Werra Castle Trail was extended in 2011 to the sources of the Werra.(Source: Wikipedia)

The legend and fairy tale path on the Rennsteig leads to places where special legends and fairy tales have played or could have played. It starts on the heights of the Rennsteig and leads in river valleys across meadows, in wet biotopes and back to the Rennsteig. Lovingly designed panels not only tell the fairy tales, but also show the old tradition of painting in the Thuringian Forest.(Source: wanderkompass.de)
