Hiking Highlight
The fort below the large Feldberg is at an altitude of 700 meters, making it the highest fort on the entire Limes in Germany and one of the best-preserved buildings on the Limes. The former Limes can still be seen as a flat dam about 100 meters from the ruins.

Small Roman fort. Very nice and nostalgic. Unfortunately, a few holes in different corners left their (house) garbage.

Foundation walls of the Roman small fort, plus a Roman bath a little below. Some information boards explain both the remains and the historical surroundings of the fort. There are also a few sculptures in the castle itself. Above the castle (on a slope) you can start the ascent to the Great Feldberg.

Beautiful facility where you can linger for a while. You can look at the information boards that have been set up or simply enjoy the sun on the benches.
