In 1885 the construction of the Ringbahn (now Ringgleis) started here at the former North Station. The private Braunschweigsche Landes-Eisenbahn (BLE) had its administrative headquarters in the north station.

The first route led to Seesen and stopped in the urban area on Celler Strasse and Westbahnhof. There was a tram connection at all three stations.

(The pages hgli.lima-city.de/Ringgeschichte.htm and of course ringgleis.de/de/geschichte/geschichte.php offer a good historical overview)

Today the renovated building houses the association "House of Cultures e.V."

It's good that such beautiful old buildings are preserved.
