Dominikos Theotokopoulos (El Greco) Monument

Located in Theotokopoulou Park, the sculpture depicts one of the greatest painters in the world, Dominikos Theotokopoulos, born in Heraklion, Crete. Also known as "El Greco", Dominikos Theotokopoulos was born in Heraklion in 1541 and died in Toledo in 1614 , Spain. He takes his first courses at the Ag art and grammar school. Aikaterini. The small town of FODELE near Heraklion has been accepted as the birthplace of "El Greco". There in the small El Greco Museum (which is also in cooperation with Toledo) in his rebuilt "birthplace" you can see the facility as it must have been in the 16th century.
