Hiking Highlight (Segment)

No, the hike is by no means easy. Moderately difficult... hmm... depending on your age and fitness. You have to scramble over large boulders, wind your way through narrow rock passages, and navigate under overhangs... and be as free from vertigo as possible. Sandals or anything like that are definitely not suitable!!! As for footwear, however, I think trail running shoes with a good tread are sufficient. Hiking boots would be too heavy for me, and their soles too inflexible—perhaps a matter of taste... I prefer lighter hiking boots, though, and I think the much-vaunted ankle protection of hiking boots, or their stabilizing effect, is overrated. It's absolutely essential to bring plenty of drinking water. Never go alone. And wear a hat or cap for sun protection.
