In 1998, a cooperation was established to restore the island. More than 600 volunteers helped repair the old bridge, rebuild soil layers, plant 1400 native trees and wildflowers and set up a circular route on the island.
The effort of all involved was worthwhile. So Pyramid Iceland is today again an idyllic destination for families and tourists. In addition, the picturesque scenery is often used for wedding pictures.
