The Lower Castle is located in Beilstein in the Heilbronn district of Baden-Württemberg. It is located halfway between the town and Hohenbeilstein Castle. The Lower Castle goes back to an administrative courtyard built in the 16th century, on whose site a villa was built for the manufacturer Robert Vollmöller between 1906 and 1908 according to plans by Albert Benz. Since 1957, the Lower Castle has been the home of the children's church and the conference center of the Evangelical Regional Church in Württemberg, which has owned the building since 1959.

Hohenbeilstein is a hilltop castle on a hill above the town of Beilstein on the southern edge of the Heilbronn district in Baden-Württemberg. Its origins date back to the 11th century; the oldest parts still visible today date from the 13th century. The castle today consists of the so-called “Langhans”, a 28 meter high, pentagonal keep that can be climbed as a lookout tower, a 2.5 meter thick shield wall and several outbuildings in the outer bailey area, which is now used as a falconry and restaurant. The original palace has not been preserved; today's restaurant building is a building by Albert Benz.

The climb is worth it (small challenge) and the show is cool too.

Also ideal for gravel bike riders!
