In 1991, after decades of planning, the North marshalling yard opened and replaced the old marshalling yard in Laim - leaving much room for urban development there.
Mainly on the north side, the tracks are lined with a wide green area with some wild, natural character. From the pedestrian bridges and noise barriers there are beautiful views into the city.
If I were a runner, that would be my top run highlight.
