Mountain biking
The Nienwohlder Moor is a dehydrated and mostly drained moor. It is the largest and best preserved moor in Schleswig-Holstein.
The peat extraction was first mentioned in 1804. From 1951 to 1976, the white peat was first handcrafted, then drained by machine.
In the 1980s, the bog was renaturalized by rewetting.
