Werraquell Hütte

The new Gasthaus an der Werraquelle offers more guest comfort than the old version. A nice resting point in the hiking area around the donkey mountain between Masserberg and Fehrenbach. Whether the area has lost to hiking charm through the new building, everyone may decide for themselves.

Great food and nice ambience!

The location, lonely and closely connected to nature, the Werra spring, a lion's head, as the beginning of a river that leads up to the North Sea, was the basis for the special topic of this project. As an overall concept, something should be created where people are able to see the beautiful again and enjoy the wonderful. The design of the building is based on the architecture of the Swiss mountain huts.

The basement and the ground floor are made of precast reinforced concrete. The attic is built using a timber frame construction. The building material wood is a main theme. A connection between tradition, old wood and modernity was created.

Arrived at the Werraquellhütte you can relax and enjoy the high-quality range of gastronomy. The design is based on a Swiss mountain hut. We felt like in South Tyrol, including a very good wine from the Unstrut 👌🏻. There is also a lot to discover for the children. Outside, they can explore the tower to the small pond, have fun at the water of the spring or visit and pet the animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, horses), of course under supervision 😊. Just beautiful there and a bit like vacation.

Werraquellhütte are a highlight of the area, very nice to discover with children.

The hut is in a great location. Unfortunately, the Thuringian bratwurst came out of the fryer.

Nice cabin and good service.
We only had the problem, through the new pond and the fencing, we first had to look for the hiking trail.

Small restaurant and play facilities for children available.

Very nice destination by bike or on foot.

Delicious food and drink in the middle of the forest. No signal. Just switch off and enjoy nature. 😌

The source of the Werra near Masserberg is located in the middle of the forest between Fehrenbach and Masserberg. A really great inn with very delicious food and cakes with nice service.

The former hut has developed into a recommendable inn. Overnight accommodation will also be offered here in the near future.

Just sit down and enjoy something fresh or a coffee. 😌
