Bike Touring Highlight
The Urfttalsperre in the northern Eifel is a 58.5 m high, 226 m long and built from 1900 to 1905 dam in the southwestern part of the North Rhine-Westphalian district Euskirchen, which dammed the Urft to 2.16 km ² Urft Reservoir (Urftsee).
Its dam wall and the Urft reservoir, which at that time was the largest European artificial lake, belong since 1993 to the water association Eifel-Rur.
