Tips

  • The Caledonian Canal runs for 60 spectacular miles (100km) through Scotland's Great Glen, connecting Inverness on the east coast with Corpach near Fort William on the west coast. The canal was constructed in the early 1800s to designs by celebrated Scottish engineer, Thomas Telford. A third of the canal's length is man-made, with the rest being formed by the Great Glen Fault and taking in Loch Dochfour, Loch Ness, Loch Oich, and Loch Lochy. A multi-user path along its length makes it a perfect place to ride, run or hike.
