From 1928 to 2015, today's hotel was the seat of the customs office. Up to 60 officials have ensured that with the brisk trade in one of the most important transhipment points on the west coast, everything went right. The centuries-long history of the port and trading town of Husum was shaped, among other things, by 70 distilleries and breweries - and an important cattle market that determined the economy in Husum and the surrounding area well into the 20th century. So it's no wonder that customs had a lot to do here.
