Of the 22 churches on the beach, only three survived the terrible flood of 1634. Two houses of worship on Pellworm and St. Vincent's Church as the only church on North Beach.

The church was built on a mound in the 13th century. In the 19th century, the brickwork was completely obscured by a facing masonry and the octagonal roof ridge was built.

Inside there are only a few elements from the time before the flood, e.g. a crucifix opposite the gallery of about 1400 or the pulpit of 1605. Otherwise the Gothic and Baroque interior dates from the 18th century. With its long, narrow interior, the blue benches and the long, colorfully painted gallery, St. Vincent possesses Church a very special character.

Inside the church is a very impressive, late Gothic, three-wing carved altar depicting a very realistic and dynamic crucifixion scene. Particularly vividly a dispute of the soldiers is depicted around the rock of Christ, the wings show apostles, bishops and saints.
