The Breitenbacher lakes with a water surface of 17 ha (largest lake area in Waldhessen) are formed by gravel and lie throughout in the landscape protection area Auenverbund Fulda.

With the Breitenbacher See, a fairly large area of water is available for water sports. Campers will find nice pitches here. The kiosk offers a wide selection from bratwurst to ice cream and cool drinks. Hikers and cyclists can explore the area around the lake.
