Kungshall Bastion is one of Stumholmen's oldest buildings and was built according to Dahlbergh and Stuart's original fortification plan for Karlskrona in 1683.
The Kungshall bastion served as a fortress for Karlskrona for a century. The salute cannons on the bastion are part of one of Sweden's three fixed batteries in which national tribute salutes are fired.
