In the middle of the square stands the life-size bronze sculpture Fiskargumman (Fishwife), created by Erik Höglund. With her gesture she seems to be calling out to the passers-by, asking if anyone wants to buy fish today. The statue is a reminder of the many generations of fishermen's wives who used to row from the islands in all weathers to bring the daily catch to the market.
