View from Boxberg

The detour to Boxberg is a must, because at 78 meters it is one of the highest peaks in Schleswig-Holstein. And it's worth it, because the view from up here is wonderful.

At the foot of the mountain you can let yourself be pampered after your exertion in the large and beautiful beer garden of the café "Am Boxberg".

With a height of 77 m, the Boxberg is the highest point in the Aukrug Nature Park. It was pushed up by glaciers 120,000 years ago and takes its name from the old German word “Booksberg”, which means “Buchenberg”. There are many leisure activities on offer, including a forest and adventure trail, a fitness and jogging trail and a bridle path. Great paths open up a wide variety of nature experiences and at the foot of the hill there is a restaurant as well as a playground. At the top of the “summit”, the wonderful view over the Aukrug Nature Park is worthwhile, with various resting places.

There is a great restaurant to pause and a very nice view from Boxberg.
