St. Medardus is one
Catholic church in Nörvenich.
The parish of Saint Medardus was first mentioned in 1177. But the church must have existed earlier. Today's church probably had three previous buildings, the last of which was badly damaged in 1642. The current church was built between 1658 and 1664.
The cross vault of the central nave rests on four mighty round pillars made of shell limestone.
A Medardus relic and a Sebastian relic of the second patron saint were picked up by Flocken in 1668 in Cologne and at the Arnstein monastery.
I really like the altarpiece - it is worth visiting this church!
