The Marl Volkspark was modeled on a classic English landscape park and is crossed by the Weierbach. Popular with walkers, dog owners and families for many decades (there is a small playground), the park is bordered at one end by the Volksparkstadion and at the other by the Guido-Heiland-Bad (open-air swimming pool) and the adjacent local history museum. Marl's biggest festival, the Volksparkfest, takes place here once a year.
