The 1,056-meter-high summit of the Knogl lies on the beautiful ridge walk from Predigtstuhl to Hirschenstein. In contrast to the Predigtstuhl the rocky Knogl is only partially wooded and so you can expect a beautiful view. In addition to a bank, there is also a small refuge, where you can find shelter in bad weather.

has had a summit cross since 2007 and is located directly on the quality Goldsteig hiking trail, with a good view of the Danube plain.

The Knogl became famous in recent years thanks to a hermit living there (Knogl Toni), whose way of life was portrayed in a television program.

The Knogl, also spelled Knogel, is a mountain in the Upper Bavarian Forest southeast of the municipality of Sankt Englmar and is located in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park. It is almost completely forested. The nearest neighboring mountains are the Predigtstuhl and the Pröller to the northwest and the Hirschenstein and the Rauhe Kulm to the southeast.
