Opening times of the refuge on the Volkmarsberg. Saturdays: 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday/public holidays: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and by appointment.

From the tower of the Volkmarsberg you have an excellent view in good weather (good visibility) to the Alps!

Not to forget, on the way to the summit of the Volkmarsberg, the ski hut and the 120-year-old mother beech tree. The tree is definitely worth seeing while it's still there, because the end is near.

Natural monument is threatened with extinction
The “mother beech” belongs to the Volkmarsberg like salt in the soup. Now the stately natural monument is showing major damage, which will probably completely destroy the tree in the near future.
