The Fröhlichstein is a sandstone pillar from the 18th century (Friedrich Engelhard 1761), on which you can recognize the coronation of Mary, a crucifix and a Pieta (Mary with the body of Christ on her lap). It is located on a prominent mountain corner about 20 meters from the forest path on which the Frankenweg runs between Margrafenhöhe and Radspitze. The one recent Komoot picture is wrong because it doesn't show the stone, but the chapel about 200 m further down.

Historically at least as interesting as the wayside shrine is that a medieval hilltop castle (so-called moth) stood on the same site, listed in archaeological publications as the abandoned Seibelsdorf hilltop castle. The ring wall system (probably even of earlier origin) is still visible and is directly cut through by the hiking trail.
