On the ridge line of Haßberge and thus also on the Rennweg near Eichelsdorf is the Schwedenschanze. A ring wall, about 500 meters above sea level. NN, around 500 BC Was created and was probably already used by the Celts as a place of worship and refuge. Today you can enjoy a great view over the Haßberge from a 28 meter high lookout tower and stop in the Dr.-Krahmer Hütte.

Hofheim, above Eichelsdorf, at 487 m above sea level, was a prehistoric refuge. The ring-like fortifications of this defensive structure are still visible in the area as earthen ramparts and their function can be reconstructed. From the observation tower, which was built in 2001, you have a beautiful view of the "Hofheim Basin", the Bavarian and Thuringian Rhön, the Franconian Alb, the Steigerwald and the Schweinfurt region.
Tower opening times: from mid-April to mid-October.
