The Ruhrstadion (officially Vonovia Ruhrstadion through naming sponsorship), formerly the stadium on Castroper Straße, is the municipal football stadium in the Westphalian city of Bochum. It is the home ground of the football club VfL Bochum. The "pure" football stadium is located in the Grumme district on Castroper Straße, immediately northeast of downtown. VfL and its predecessor clubs have played football here since 1911. VfL Bochum thus has one of the most traditional competition venues in German professional football.
