The Bilstein was designated as a nature reserve as early as 1960. Only a few remains of the wall remain of the castle, which was built in 1120, as it was demolished in 1594 due to its dilapidation. From the Bilstein lookout point, just a few meters below the ruins, you can enjoy a wide and unobstructed view of the valley.
