On the spur above the St Andreas Tower and between the 2 parts of Monterosso lie the ruins of the Castello. The Ligurians kindly built the cemetery within the castle grounds... Strange but interesting.
Parts of the wall with swallowtail battlements, 2 corner towers, parts of old utility buildings are still preserved and in the middle of it all the cemetery...
On the spur there is also a round watchtower. All part of the UNESCO World Heritage site.
