Praia da Boca do Rio is the estuary of three little streams : Ribeira de Vale Barão, Ribeira de Vale de Boi and Ribeira de Budens. This convergence has developed a wetland area and habitat for otters. The area is rich in biodiversity. Fishing there dates back at least to the Roman Period.
