Fishery Beach gets its name from the whaling station that operated here in the 1840s, and from 1862 it served as a shipping point for ore from the nearby Talisker Mine. Ruins of the old ore crusher still remain here, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to Kangaroo Island across the water. Rocks, strong rips and tidal currents make the beach unsuitable for swimming, but it’s a good spot to cast a line from the shore.
