The Saarpolygon, inaugurated in 2016, commemorates the era of Saarland coal mining, a 30 m high, accessible steel memorial. The steel structure crowns the Haldenspitze and is intended to symbolize the change in the region, because it always appears in a different shape depending on the location of the viewer.
