Wombat-Lerderderg National Park spans about 44,000 hectares between Daylesford and Bacchus Marsh, bringing together the former Lerderderg State Park and large areas of Wombat State Forest. The park lies within the traditional Countries of the Dja Dja Wurrung, Wadawurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples and protects important forest, river and wildlife habitat, including threatened species like the greater glider, brush-tailed phascogale and powerful owl. The landscape encompasses the headwaters of several major rivers and a mix of forests, deep gullies and waterways that provide plenty of opportunities to explore on foot, by bike and on horseback.
