    Tips

    September 21, 2026

Bluerock Wildland Provincial Park protects 12,720 hectares of the eastern Rocky Mountain foothills in Kananaskis Country, established in 2001 and named for Bluerock Creek and its source, Bluerock Mountain. Rugged, jagged peaks and lodgepole pine and spruce forest define the western portion of the park, and rolling hills, forest, and open meadow further east. Elk, moose, deer, black and grizzly bear, bighorn sheep, and cougar all call the park home, part of a landscape that helps protect the wider Sheep River Valley.
