Awaba Lookout is one of the best places on the southern side of Munibung Hill to stop and take in Lake Macquarie below. From here, the water stretches past Speers Point with Mount Sugarloaf visible farther to the northwest. The climb up from Quarry Road is short but quite sharp, with loose gravel underfoot, so the descent deserves just as much care as the way up.
